Training has been really slow since the weather turned however we did manage to go out on our Mountain Bikes a few times, the funniest of which was in the worst snow and ice.
Wayne, Alan and I took to the road from The Windrush and headed toward a bridle path that cuts through from Burford Road to Crawley. It was horrendous! Within the first 100 metres Wayne fell off half a dozen times and every time I looked back at him he was making another “Snow Angel”.
It was so bad that we decided to head back and do a road-only route but even that was really difficult! We had to follow the tracks left by cars that had driven the route earlier, and it was like a sheet of ice in places.
It was worse still if you got caught in a rut or tried to change ruts. I think that was how Alan took a turn at making a Snow Angel... He fell off in the middle of the road, but at least he had a soft landing!
I couldn't stop laughing at them because they both had clip-in pedals and couldn't put their feet down quickly enough.
On another note, I was in the North West this week so I took a slight detour and drove a bit of our actual route, check it out:

Okay, it’s a pretty poor video but I’m just using it as a test, if it works, it might mean I'll be able to take and upload videos whilst on our JOGLE....
That might be interesting, or incriminating... or both!
We’ve got to step up our training from now on, my aim is to be cycling 80 miles a week by the end of February.
Come back soon to www.5blokes-end2end.weebly.com and please donate as much as you can at www.justgiving.com/5blokes-end2end
All the best,
