After breakfast this morning (yep, same pub this time only £2.99!) we went and got ready to leave. As we were gathering our gear, a gentleman called Paul McKay walked over to say hello and asked what we were at. After telling him how stupid we all are, he very generously gave us £20. This trip really is restoring our faith in human nature.
So, after a late start (09.45!) off we went to try and fight with Glasgow. We rode over Erskine bridge which gave great views of the Clyde.
We followed the A74… What a bad road. It was just awful. The surface was easily the worse we’ve cycled on during this trip. Probably the worse we’ve EVER cycled on. And I’ve led the boys up some proper country lanes! Actually, I did it again today too:
Total figures are: 334.73 miles at an average of 9.8 mph. Even I’m getting bored of all these stats!!!
I’m in a pub and really, really tired. It’s not just the pedalling; it’s navigating and blogging too. I’ll keep trying to make it ok.
